Media Training

Feel confident and comfortable in front of a microphone and camera.

Featured on Major Networks

Our clients regularly appear on Australia’s leading media platforms. From top rating national news bulletins to local radio programs, we know the media. Let us connect you.

Even the most seasoned industry experts can get camera shy when they’re on a live cross. Media Stable’s media training program is designed to make you feel confident and comfortable in front of a microphone and camera.

Our media training program has two main components – Theory and Practice. During the session we will demystify the media, share great insights and tips and help you to review your work to hone your skills.

Our program is bespoke and can be tailored to your needs. We recommend a 3-hour session, with a small group (up to 4) with our team running the session. You’ll walk away confident, positive, and capable of working with the media.

Media Stable’s Media Training Program

We have three very experienced media professionals on staff available to run Media Training sessions tailored to your needs.

Simone Kerr worked as a TV news reporter, presenter and producer in both regional and metropolitan newsrooms for almost a decade. She has worked on hundreds of stories, bulletins and interviews and has an in-depth understanding of the qualities and skills that make great media talent. During media training she helps demystify how the media works and what is expected of talent when they are interviewed for print, TV or radio. She explains what assets a newsroom needs to get a story off the ground, how to deliver key messages clearly, concisely and accurately, and the small things that can make a huge difference to the presentation and delivery of an interview. Simone’s 3-hour media training session covers theory, practice and review.

John Solvander is a media and communications expert, with over 20 years’ experience in the dynamic world of news talk radio in Melbourne and Perth. Working first as a producer of news driven Morning and Drive programs on Melbourne’s 3AW in the late 90s, John then progressed to the role of Program Director at Perth’s Radio 6PR in 2000. Joining Media Stable in 2016, John has spent the last decade guiding and advising clients ranging from ASX listed entities, to large multinationals and a broad suite of not-for-profit organisations. John’s forte is in the realm of live radio. He knows the tricks of the radio trade, from how to manage difficult questions and a combative interviewer, through to strategies that can calm nerves, and help you prepare and deliver your best during a live on-air interview.

Nic Hayes has spent most of his working life in media, starting in media intelligence, working for brands all over Australia and the UK. Nic has broad experience as presenter, broadcaster and a producer in both radio and TV, and is regularly sought for commentary on media, public affairs, and social issues. In 2012 he founded Media Stable which has grown to be recognised as one of the leading ‘earned media’ agencies in the country. For over 15 years, has been media training executives and leaders from a wide range of sectors including, multinational corporations, sporting organisations, finance, mining and resources, health and NFPs. Drawing on his experience over thousands of hours behind a mic and in front of a camera, Nic’s media training sessions are designed to give you the tools to ensure you can deliver authentically and confidently in all forms of media.
